Haunted House

It's almost that spooky time of year! For me, Halloween is all about the kids! I used Gina's Designs 2 Story House to make something the kids would enjoy, a haunted house!

I covered all the edges of the chipboard pieces to build the house with black gesso and then covered each piece with papers.

I used black and purple crackle paint on two of the spiderweb shapes and used embossing powder on the orange one. Also, black, brown and copper crackle paint on the tree, and black and copper (added some Inka gold) on the string along crow.

This house was so much fun to put together!

Fall Layout - Gina's Designs

Today I am sharing a layout I created with the gorgeous Queen Anne's Lace set from Gina's Designs. Once I placed them on the page, I knew I wanted to leave all the chipboard "natural". I just love the intricate cutting and dimension of the Queen Anne's Lace pieces.

The Flourishes 2 set is my absolute favorite flourishes! Gina has several beautiful flourish sets.
Another favorite of mine is the Feathery Flourishes Set.

I love to "pop up" some of the chipboard shapes to create dimension. I added some of the Queen Anne's lace behind the photo, and also over the top of the photo.

Here is another look at one of the pieces popped up with adhesive squares I cut into small pieces to fit
behind the delicate shapes.

Thank you very much for stopping by today. I hope I have inspired you to create something beautiful!

Halloween Cards - Gina's Designs

Hi Everyone, it's Donna, with two Halloween cards. Yes, it's that time of year again!

For this first card I used the "gate" from the Small Fence and Gate Set, and one of the Stackable Labels. I covered both with black gesso. While still wet, I sprinkled Stickles dry fine glitter in Black Diamond on the gate. I added a little bit of stenciling to the Stackable Label with purple acrylic paint dabber.

For the second card, I used Gina's Grape Vine Leaves.  This is a new item in the store. They are great to use as pumpkin vines! The curly vines are so fun to use! I cut them into pieces to fit on the card. I covered them in black gesso and added just a pinch of dry fine black glitter in with the gesso. I didn't want a lot of sparkle, just enough to highlight the leaves and vines.

I'm going to leave all of my Halloween papers out because I just received some great chipboard Halloween embellishments from Gina's!!! Take a moment to check out the beautiful Fall and Halloween chipboard shapes and home decor in the store!

Once Upon A Time - Gina's Designs

Today, I am sharing a layout for Gina's Designs with lavenders, purples, and gold!  I wanted to use the very regal chipboard iron fence (which comes with a gate).  I painted the gate with black gesso.

I accented the page with gold paper for matting, and Inka Gold metallic rub in the texture paint, on the fence, and on the shoe! I also used a piece of ivy from the "Bird in Ivy" chipboard piece. After applying gesso, I painted it with a mixture of Shimmerz texture paint, palm leaf glam glitter paint and mowed lawn distress paint. There is a lot of shimmer on the page, which was hard to capture in the photo!

I love using Gina's "words". I tried a few techniques and paints on these words! Started with milled lavender crackle paint, added lavender embossing, added a bit of the green paint mixture I used on the ivy....and then a quick spray of white ink spray and gold glimmer mist. It was really fun and looks so pretty in person!
